When I got sober in 1983 I ran into Bob at the “off the wall” meeting in Burlington. The last time I’d seen Bob before that meeting was at a favorite bar I drank at where Bob bartended before he got sober. He waved me over to the only empty chair at that meeting and said “Feeley, we’ve been saving this seat for you for a long time, sit down, keep quiet, and keep coming back; I was your bartender, and I know for sure you belong here”.....37 years later here I still am...still sober..I listened to Bob., Bob was a good man.., I know the pain he went thru, and that he died happy and sober.. Rest easy Bob.. thanks for being there for me.
