Obituary for Brenda M. Moore

Brenda M. Moore, 67, of St. Albans, VT and formally of Colchester, VT passed away at her home on May 25, 2023 after a long illness. Brenda was born on April 6, 1956 to Beatrice (Valiquette) and Edward Ross, Jr.
Brenda, a proud Navy brat, grew up in the Malletts Bay area of Colchester, VT with many friends and close cousins. Brenda’s lifelong best friend and confidant was her brother Tim who she lovingly referred to as “the Dog” and vice versa. Through life’s many ups and downs, their bond was unbreakable.

As a teen she worked as an assistant to many professional wrestlers who would do shows at Memorial Auditorium. Many of these wrestlers turned out to be quite famous. She always had a good story to tell about them including stealing her cigarettes. Brenda loved the color purple and was known for making an amazing spaghetti sauce. She loved horror movies and video games. A lover of nature, she enjoyed spending time with animals. You could always bet she was leaving food outside for the squirrels to eat. She had many special dogs over the years, including Spike, Gizmo, Rusty, Casper, Chico, Emma, Bubba and Rosie to name a few. Many special cats as well including Snuggles, Peppers, Ling, Pickles and Itta Itta.

Brenda, however, loved nothing more than being a Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Known as “Mimi” her grandchildren brought a true fulfillment and joy to her life. They were her pride and joy.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Wayne Moore, children; Kristie Ploof and Tracy Gueye (Mamadou), Grandchildren; Kayal Deuell (Robbie), Christopher “Doobers” Atkins, Charles “Skip, Mr. B” Brooks VI and Megan Brooks; Great-grandchildren, Neghan Hope and Spencer Deuell. Brothers; Edward “Punkin” Ross, III (Sheila), Timmy “the Dog” Ross (Baba), Jamie “the Animal” Ross and Brian Ross, Sr; Many nephews and nieces including nephew and Godson, Jamie Ross, Jr. and special niece, Ashely “the little puppy” Ross.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Alan Ploof; both parents Beatrice Mae Ross & Edward C. Ross, Jr., as well as grandparents, many special cousins, family and friends.

At this time there are no services planned per the wishes of Brenda. The family would like it known that the passing of her father, only a short year ago was quite hard on her. In particular, the circumstances surrounding her father’s memorial service and very few attending due to family gossip was beyond hurtful and disrespectful.
Those wishing to make contributions in Brenda’s name may do so to the ASPCA, a charity which Brenda supported and believed in.
