Obituary for Jean E. (Hauke) O’Neill
Fairfax - Jean E. (Hauke) O’Neill, 80, passed away on March 22, 2023 at Pines Nursing Home in Lyndonville following a long illness. Jean was born on March 28, 1942 in Burlington daughter of the late Roland John Hauke and Norma (Roberts) Hauke. She was a graduate of Lyndon Institute. Jean married Terry O’Neill on May 7, 1966 after a courtship having met at Mary Fletcher Hospital.
First and foremost, Jean was a wife, homemaker and mother. She was an avid collector of antiques, enjoyed all her time at Colchester Point. Jean and Terry had an amazing life in Fairfax, loving their log cabin and all their friends from the community and Church of The Rock. She also loved all her German Shepards she had over the years.
Jean is survived by her husband Terry, her four children Shaun O’Neill and his wife Kate, Roland O’Neill, Susan O’Neill-Parent and husband John, Mark O’Neill and wife Becki, sisters Susan Mason and husband Bill, Margaret Lanzetta, Gayle Roorda, brother Roland Hauke, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jean was also predeceased by close family members Matthew Hauke, John Lanzetta and Paula Hauke.
Jean’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the Pines of Lyndonville for all the love and support given to Jean.
A memorial service will be held at 9:00 am on Monday June 5, 2023 at A W Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax Chapel with Reverend Mike Oldham officiating. Inurnment will follow at noon in the family lot in Lakeview Cemetery, Burlington. Please visit awrfh.com to share your memories and condolences.
