Lefty passion to talk and play baseball was very evident immediatly. I was very fortunate to be hosted by Lefty and his wife Rosie in 1997 as a member of the Vermont Expos. He provided a home away from home, transportation, and an butt whipping at the ping pong table. Many of nights we talked long after the games about baseball in general, shared stories...and I listened to many of his. I never forgot his hospitatliy, that was extended to my family as they came up from Florida to watch me play. We stayed in contact ever since and caught up several times on their visits to FL where I lived. My heart hurts for the family......he was a very good friend to have and always interested in talking about anything that was going on in my life. made a great impression on my life
