Obituary for Stephen Joseph Hmelovsky

Stephen Joseph  Hmelovsky
Stephen Joseph Hmelovsky, age 64, a lifelong resident of Hicksville, New York, died in Vermont in December, 2015. Born October 15, 1951, Stephen is the son of the late Bernard Hmelovsky and Emily (nee Lincavage) Hmelovsky. He is predeceased by his wife and soulmate Marie (Nizza). Stephen is survived by his mother Emily, brother Michael Hmelovsky, sister Ann Cassin and his son Douglas Brass and their respective families.

Stephen served his country in the Army National Guard as a Sergeant First Class Officer. His specialty was Communications-Electronics Maintenance Chief. After his honorable discharge in 1987, Stephen completed his Associate of Applied Science at Excelsior College and a Quality Assurance Level II at Defense Acquisition University (Fort Belvoir, VA).

Stephen’s passion was for travel and had visited many countries including Egypt, Kuwait, Thailand, Spain, Germany and Oman. During his career, Stephen worked for several divisions of General Dynamics, Around the World Service Center, ITT Mission System and CSA Kuwait Ltd.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:15 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, East Islip, NY. The family prefers charitable contributions in his memory to the American Heart Association.
